A small sheet of vellum containing four-line music. The verso has a very striking initial "A" of Ave, the first word of Ave stella matutina…( Hail, morningstar…). The initial is decorated in fine red and blue penwork extending into the margin. This sheet is from a Processional, a small book designed to be carried during a procession. To keep these books small often only the first word, or sentence of a hymn were given. So when the singer saw "De profundis" he knew he must sing Psalm 129.
