Large and handsome chart of the Avalon Peninsula. Inset titled "Chebucto Harbour: in Nova Scotia, Done from the Latest Observations" is one of the earliest plans of Halifax. Two insets with fancy rococo-style borders detail Trinity Harbour and St. John's Harbour. Bold and well engraved chart.

Two hand laid sheets, joined as issued. Good impression indicates a pre-1775 issue with nice full coloring. Close margin at left with some paper laid in and a little facsimile on neatline.
