Copper engraved map showing good detail of the counties, watershed and villages. Notes Indian land boundary and shows area ceded to the U.S. from the Sioux, Sax and Fox nations. Burr was also a commercial cartographer and publisher of some note. In addition to being the Topographer to the Post Office and the Geographer to the House of Representatives, Burr published commercially an atlas of New York in 1829, the Universal Atlas in 1835, and the American Atlas in 1839. He also developed maps for other publishers including J.H. Colton.
