"[Set of 6 Star Charts]", SDUK Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge

This set of steel engraved celestial maps was produced by Mr. W. Newton from the catalogue of the Astronomical Society. The maps use the Gnomonic Projection and include all the stars up to the sixth magnitude, or those that can been seen with the naked eye. The constellations are shown in allegorical form and lightly hand-colored in pastel shades. This set is complete with the title and text page.

Wide margins. Condition varies but with most problems confined to margins so they will frame nicely. Two charts have rather light water staining into image at corner.
