An important work on early mapping of the American Southwest and a full-length study of his work as a scientific cartographer. It identifies thirty-one maps by Kino, three reproduced here for the first time. First edition (limited to 750 copies). Small folio, 17 map plates (3 in color), 2 portrait renditions, 4 plates from Scherer's Atlas Novus. Hard bound in red cloth with compass rose in gilt on front cover and text on spine, 104 pp.
