Genl. & Chief of Engineers and under the Authority of the Hon. Secretary of War. Lithographed by Julius Bien with hand applied burnt umber background, and "General direction of Confederate line of Battle, Sept. 16, 1862" colored in red. Union positions are not shown. A detailed street grid of Sharpsburg and its vicinity are shown as well as much geographic detail. A superior map of this famous battlefield with exquisite detail.
