Extremely scarce complete set of eight maps making up the whole report. The Treaty of Ghent, which ended the War of 1812, made provision for the boundary between Canada and the United States. By 1822 the British and American commissioners had completed surveys as far as St. Joseph Island in upper Lake Huron. Then, in 1828, the Oregon Question led Congress to demand the completion of the boundary. Secretary of State, Henry Clay, complied with the issuance of this report. The first map begins the boundary between Kelly's Island and Pelee Island, Lake Erie, up to the mouth of the Detroit River. The next six maps carry the line up past Grosse Isle, Lake St. Clair, the St. Clair River, Lake Huron, to St. Joseph Island. The last map shows the division between St. Joseph and Drummond's Island. Seven maps are approximately 18.7 x 14.5" and one measures 9 x 38" (folding).
