A very detailed and well engraved map. Oval cartouche with script and fancy titling. Names hundreds of places along the Nile. Legend lists ancient to modern place names "as nearly as possible." Filled with notations, desert trails, etc. Eight distance scales. An extraordinary map to have been published in a magazine. Ref: Jolly MONMAG-3, Oct., 1798. A little toned along one fold with reinforcing on back.
