Printed by Anton Koberger, one of the most highly esteemed of the earliest German printers. This work of the French canonist (1230? - 1296) discusses the origin and symbolic sense of Christian ritual and is acknowledged to be one of the great authorities on Western liturgy. This incunabula period edition is distinguished by exuberant use of rubrication in red ink, typical of Renaissance work.
