Pair of finely engraved frontier scenes, well rendered by this important Western artist. Titles are attached to back of print: "When they had reached the plain, they found only embers and ashes" and "Into this wonderful land at the base of the Ozark Mountains, Gabriel Far had entered, with hunters and trappers behind him". A bit of surface soil, plus foxing on the first - still an attractive pair. Steel engravings, not lithographs as normally seen.
