This is a full sheet of text with a map of Cuba on one side and Jamaica on the other. The maps have very little detail, but show the islands with mountains and forests in the interior. These maps are among the earliest maps of these islands available to the collector. Bordone was an 'illuminator' and wood-engraver, working in Venice, when he was given permission by the Senate to print maps of Italy and the world. None of these maps have survived and his remaining work are the maps from the "Island Book", which include islands throughout the world. Each map has full original color in the seas, with the land uncolored. The maps are placed on the sheet such that they to be separated and framed individually, or they could be displayed in a double-sided frame.
