Three copper engravings: "Dendermonde" - A Flemish fortification near Brussels. At the time it was occupied by the Spanish. The plan shows the surrounding lowlands that could be flooded for additional protection. "Ostende"- A strongly fortified port city in Southern Flanders showing the gates, walls, moats, ship repair years, as well as defenses against the violence of the sea. "Naerden" - This fort on the Zuyderzee (Netherlands) was built to protect the city of Amsterdam and surrounded by low lying fields which could easily be inundated. Includes a photocopy of the atlas title page. Light damp stains.
