Very large and uncommon celestial chart depicting the North equatorial pole to 38 deg. S dec. From an early nineteenth century celestial atlas based on the work of J.E. Bode who was a self taught astronomer and served as director of the astronomical observatory of the Berlin Academy of Science for nearly 40 years. On a very heavy sheet of paper with a few repaired tears in the wide margins (two of which just entered the border of the map). Overall very good with pleasing later coloring.
