This finely engraved map shows the state with 37 counties and the majority of development in the north. A railroad extends from Fernandina to Cedar Keys, and a second railroad joins Jacksonville to Tallahassee. There are only a few roads in the southern half of the state but there are a number of forts in the region due to the recently concluded Seminole Wars. An inset at lower left locates the Keys. Surrounded by a decorative latticework border with stars in the corners.
