A. Sophorum Regnum, by Cluver/Jansson, from Introductionis in Universam Geographicam, circa 1661 (7.5 x 5.8"). This charming small map of the Persian Empire covers the region from the Caucasus to India, with part of the Arabian Peninsula. Nice detail describes hundreds of tiny villages. A handsome strapwork cartouche encloses the title. Reference: Shirley (BL Atlases) T.CLUV-6a #37. Condition: A nice impression on watermarked paper with minor offsetting and remnants of hinge tape on verso.

B. Perse, by S. D. V. de Chivigny, from La Science des Personnes de Cour... Tome II, circa 1710 (5.1 x 5.3"). This small map of the region spans from Armenia to Lahore. There are place names, political divisions, and some topographical detail of the region's mountains. There is a page number at top right: "Tome 2. Pag: 17." Published by Chatelain. Condition: A couple unobtrusive spots with minor toning.

C. A Map of Persia, by Dr. John Trusler, from The Habitable World Described... Vol. VII, dated 1791, (6.9 x 6.6"). This map of the Persian Empire features nice detail for a map of its size, with plenty of place names and topographical detail. It centers around Isfahan and includes interesting notations such as Castle of Salt; Bitter Water; Atesga or Fire of the Ghebers; Limits Removed to the Indus in 1739; and Wild Indians. Engraved by S. Neele. Reference: McCorkle (18th C. Geography Books) #389-Vol. VII #6. Condition: A dark impression on a clean and bright sheet, issued folding, with remnants of hinge tape on verso.
