This architectural title page was for Blaeu's atlas of Scotland, and depicts the royal coat of arms of Scotland in the top half, featuring a shield with the red lion of the King of Scots supported by two chained Unicorns. The motto above the crest, "In Defence" is a contraction for "In My Defens God Me Defend." The title imprint was typically printed on a separate sheet and then pasted onto the sheet, however this example does not have one.
