This is the first English edition of John Keill's lectures on astronomy and its history, translated from the 1718 Latin edition (Introductio ad Veram Astronomiam). This volume includes two engravings by John Senex of each side of the moon, each measuring approximately 7x7", as well as 26 folding engraved plates featuring various astronomical diagrams.

8vo; dedication, preface, 396 pp., index, and 28 engraved folding plates. Professionally rebound with original blindstamped calf covers and new leather spine with raised bands, red leather label with gilt titling, and blindstamped decorations.
