A. The Story of Maps, by Lloyd A. Brown, published 1949 (7.4 x 10.3"). In this terrific reference, Brown skillfully tells about the leading part that maps have played in the drama of human history. Brown was the map curator at University of Michigan and librarian at the Peabody Institute. Published by Little, Brown and Company. 393 pp., illustrated, with notes, bibliography, and index. Hardbound in green cloth. Condition: Contents are near fine with minor toning along the edges. Covers have minor wear and slightly bumped corners. (A)

B. Explorers' Maps - Chapters in the Cartographic Record of Geographical Discovery, by R.A. Skelton, published 1970 (8.8 x 11.3"). This reference focuses on European exploration and traces the progress of cartography from the maps and charts of medieval travelers to the more scientific mapping of the 18th and 19th centuries. 337 pp., with 219 illustrations. Hard bound in white cloth with illustrated dust jacket. Second edition. Condition: Contents are very good with faint toning along the top edges of the pages and tape stains on the end papers. Dust jacket is taped to the covers with sunning on the spine and light soiling. Corners slightly bumped. (B+)

C. Maps and Prints for Pleasure and Investment, by D.C. Gohm, published 1978 (6.7 x 9.5"). Beautifully illustrated book that provides new collectors of maps and prints a good overview of the subject. 78 illustrations in color and B&W. It features a helpful glossary. 196 pages, plus an index. Hardbound in maroon cloth with an illustrated dust jacket. Condition: Contents are tight with faint toning along the edges. Covers are very good. Dust jacket has a couple small tears and minor shelf wear. (A)
