This pictorial map of Orange County by William J. Embler is absolutely filled with illustrations and text highlighting its history and natural beauty. Some of the interesting facts that caught this cataloger's eye include the New York/New Jersey Boundary dispute noted at Unionville, the birthplace of Governor DeWitt Clinton, and the Devil's Dance Chamber near Balmville. Includes a note in all caps at top left indicating that "Orange County was one of the twelve original counties of New York established by the General Assembly." Decorated by a scroll title cartouche and coat of arms for William III, Prince of Orange and King of England.
