This beautiful plan of Canterbury lays out the city in grid form, showing streets, city walls, gates, buildings, parks, and more. The Canterbury Cathedral, St. Augustine's Monastery, St. Gregory's Priory, and Archbishop's Palace are prominently depicted. Decorative elements surround the plan, including the arms of the city, Canterbury Cathedral, and the Archbishopric, as well as vignette views of St. Augustine's Monastery and various churches. The composition is completed with a compass rose topped with a fleur-de-lis and a decorative title cartouche.
