"Das Wiflispurgergou", Mercator, Gerard

The southwestern part of Switzerland is the focus of this detailed map showing Geneva, Lake Geneva, Lake Neuchatel, Lake Biel, Bern, Freiburg, and Lake Thuner. It is decorated with a strapwork title cartouche and a ship sailing in Lake Geneva. This is Mercator's first map of the region, which was updated in 1636.
