A nice example of Ortelius' first map of Silesia. It is based on a map by the Silesien cartographer Martin Helweg in 1561, and is beautifully engraved with large forests, mountain ranges, and a strapwork title cartouche and coat of arms. Wroclaw (Breslaw) is located near the center of the map and Krakow is at bottom right. French text on verso.

A dark impression on a bright sheet with a hint of toning along the centerfold, a few old manuscript notations just outside of the map, a tiny centerfold separation at top, and marginal soiling.
