This elegantly engraved map covers Germany, parts of present-day France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Poland and northern Italy. It shows the various tribes, towns, and ancient divisions of the region. There is a strapwork title cartouche at bottom left and two distance scales in a cartouche at top left.

On a sheet with contemporary outline color and a watermark of a Maltese cross surrounded by rosary beads. There is light toning around the centerfold at bottom, a few small light spots, and a short tear in the bottom blank margin.
