"Nieuwen Atlas oste Weereldts-Beschryvinge/ Vervolgh van 't Tweede Deel. Inhoudende Uranckryck en Hispanien", Jansson, Jan

This lovely title page was issued in the second volume of Jansson's Nieuwen Atlas containing maps of France, Switzerland and Spain. The title page was originally issued in 1642 with French King Louis XIII and Queen Anne, and was replaced with a man in armor and a queen with the Merovingian coat of arms from 1644 onward. The present example was issued circa 1650 with the date removed from the publisher's imprint.
