This French atlas was intended for school students and includes 64 maps of every part of the world, including both ancient and modern maps. The atlas is divided into four parts, with each part beginning with a title page and table of contents. Part One includes 16 maps of ancient geography. Part Two shows Europe in the Middle Ages, with 16 maps depicting Europe from the 5th century to 1813 and maps of Germany and France in 1789 and 1813. Parts Three and Four have 16 maps each and show modern geography with maps of the world, heavens, continents, and numerous regions and countries, including a map of the United States and another of the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

The title page to Part Four is dated 1833 and is the only dated title page, with most of the maps in Part Four dated between 1831-33. The map of the United States (Carte des Etats-Unis) is dated 1832, and shows Texas as still part of Mexico. Nearly all of the land west of the Mississippi is divided into Indian territories (including Sioux, Mandan, Osage, Ozark and Oregon) with the exception of Missouri and Arkansas. Oregon Territory extends well into Canada, reflecting US interests in the Oregon Boundary Dispute, which was supported by France due to their alliance. Part Three is the only one noted as a "new edition" and features an undated map of the Western Hemisphere (Amerique) with the Republic of Texas, however the US-Canadian boundary is shown at the 49th parallel.

A manuscript title page has been inscribed on the front free-endpaper outlining all 4 atlases together. Folio. Hardbound in tan library buckram.
