This handsome map focuses on the eastern areas of the Roman Empire in the present-day Balkans and Turkey. Provinces, towns and cities, rivers, and some topographical detail are shown. Nearly all of the Black Sea appears. Regions outside of Roman control are left largely unengraved.

Condition: B+

A nice impression on watermarked paper with original wash and outline color. There are several small stains in the image, light offsetting, and light toning along the centerfold and edges of the sheet. The right half of the sheet is double-thick paper, as issued.
