B. A Portion T.E. & L. Lands Throckmorton County, Texas Less Combest et al Mineral Wells, Texas, by Leslie Combest, circa 1925, black & white (17.3 x 17.8"). A county-level map coded to show producing wells, abandoned oil wells, dry holes, and drilling activity. Includes a few manuscript notations at the center of the map. Leslie Combest was active in the Texas oil trade in the 1920s. T.E. & L. lands refer to the Texas Emigration & Land Company (also known as Peters Colony), which was established shortly after Texas' independence to promote settlement by British immigrants. No copies on OCLC. Condition: Minor soiling, staining, and a few extraneous notations in the image. (B+)
