This terrific pictorial map was issued by the Syracuse-Wawasee Community Chamber of Commerce to highlight Lake Wawasee's appeal to tourists. Lake Wawasee is the largest lake wholly within Indiana's boundaries. According to text on the verso, it is the "most beautiful lake in Indiana" with "1200 fine, modern cottages and permanent homes" along the shoreline. The map itself features cartoonish images of the many activities popular in and around the lake: fishing, water skiing, hunting, archery, horseback riding, golfing, and much more. The region's Native American history is emphasized as well, with an arrow-and-tomahawk compass rose, a Native American painting the title in the title cartouche, and a ghost native in the lake. The pamphlet includes numerous photographs and a business directory. There is a smaller map on verso situating the lake in the broader region.
