This large, English geography book is divided into four parts. Parts one and two focus on Europe, part three relates to Asia, and part four is dedicated to Africa and America. The volume includes four maps corresponding to each of the continents. Of particular interest is Americae Descriptio Nova..., which is based upon John Speed's 1626 map. California is shown as an island with a flat northern coastline, and the region to its north is virtually blank with only a conjectural coastline and a large Terra Incognita. 1095 pages of text along with notes to the reader, dedication, introduction, and index. Title page is missing. Hardbound in brown quarter leather with tips over maroon boards.

References: McLaughlin #13.

Condition: C

The maps range in condition from C to D with the right, left, and bottom sides of the sheets trimmed approximately 0.5" into the image due to rebinding. The maps of Europe, Asia, and Africa all have additional chips at bottom, left, and right respectively (the America map is in the best shape). The maps and text have toning, dampstains, and numerous extraneous notations. The back cover has separated, the front cover has nearly separated, and the binding is worn and chipped.
