This beautifully engraved chart was published in John Reid's rare American Atlas, which was the second atlas to be published in America. The map shows the entire continent in very fine detail to include major cities, coastal regions, interior watershed, and topography. It extends to locate Georgia Island and the Sandwich Island group to the east of Tierra del Fuego. The mythical Lake Parime appears in Guiana. There is good detail of the Galapagos Islands, and the Amazon is well mapped. Engraved by B. Tanner.

References: Wheat & Brun #712.

Condition: B+

A crisp impression on a watermarked sheet with minor toning along the centerfold and faint dampstains in the bottom corners of the image. A short centerfold separation is confined to the bottom blank margin.
