This congressional publication contains "all public treaties made and ratified subsequently to the publication of the laws of the preceding session." Of particular importance is the first official printing of the "Joint Resolution for Annexing Texas to the United States" found on pages 117-118. Upon approval, the Republic of Texas ceased to exist and joined the Union as the 28th state. The resolution also notes that Texas, per the Missouri Compromise, may enter the agreement with the United States "with or without slavery, as the people of each State asking admission may desire." 152 pages. Housed in original blue paper wrappers. An important piece of Texas history.
