A. A New Map of North America, Agreeable to the Latest Discoveries, Anonymous, circa 1810 (11.3 x 8.5"). This anonymous map shows the United States confined to east of the Mississippi River with Louisiana, New Mexico, and New Albion to its west. A long River of the West is depicted connecting the Pacific Ocean to Hudson Bay through a complex network of lakes and rivers. A large Quivira occupies the Pacific Northwest and is situated just north of a confusing series of mountain ranges. Condition: Issued folding with a bit of soiling along the right fold.

B. North America, by Thomas Kelly, dated 1840 (8.0 x 9.9"). Shows the United States extending to the Rocky Mountains. Texas is shown as a Republic with Mexico to its west. The Pacific Northwest is not labeled, likely a reflection of the ownership dispute between Britain and the United States. Alaska is Russian America. Condition: There is faint offsetting from an opposing page of text and a narrow, but adequate, right side margin.
