A. Map of Contra Costa County, by Progressive Map Service, circa 1930, black & white (28.8 x 16.6"). This detailed map of the East Bay, printed in blue ink, extends from Oakland, Berkeley and Alameda west to San Joaquin County. A legend identifies railroads, paved roads (very few), open roads, and ferries. Mt. Diablo State Park is shown near the center of the map, indicating a circa date of 1930. The rather obscure publisher, Progressive Map Service, frequently partnered with Weber & Co. to issue maps of California counties between 1915-1930. Folds into olive colored paper wrappers. Condition: The map is clean, bright, and near fine with a little light toning along the left fold. Paper wrappers have light wear.

B. E-Z Guide Map of Oakland and Vicinity with Dial Pointer for Locating Streets, by American Trust Company, dated 1929, printed color (17.3 x 13.4"). Another map showing the East Bay with American Trust Company branches circled in green. The map includes an unusual lettered paper pointer that, along with the numeric concentric circle printed on the map, allows the user to find any location on the map (via an extensive key on verso). Condition: There is a bit of toning at top, but otherwise fine.
