This attractive copper engraved carte-a-figures map covers France in great detail. Ten figures flank the left and right side of the map showing the King, Queen, a merchant, a lawyer and a farmer to name a few. Above the map are eight town plans including Paris, Orleans and Bordeaux. Imprint of Bassett and Chiswell in the title cartouche. English text on verso.

Condition: A

A crisp impression on a bright sheet of paper with a small fleur-de-lis watermark and very good margins. There is minor show-through of text on verso and a tear that enters 1" into the vignette at top right that has been archivally repaired on verso. Several small chips and tears along the top edge of the sheet have been professionally repaired.
