This is an English translation of Sanson's famous L'Amerique en Plusieurs Cartes Nouvelles et Exactes..., written to detail the New World for King Louis XIV. Split across three volumes, this first volume covers the French, English, Dutch, Swedish, and Spanish settlements in the present-day United States, Canada, and the Arctic. The book includes four facsimiles of notable Sanson maps: Amerique Septentrionale, Le Canada, ou Nouvelle France, &c., La Floride, and Audience de Guadalajara, Nouveau Mexique, Californie, &c.. Hardbound in blue cloth with the title in a gilt scroll design on the front cover and an illustrated dust jacket. 61 pp.
