This the second edition of the work first published in 1795. Elements of Geography was written for students and explains the world as a whole with an emphasis on North America. It also includes sections on Asia, Africa, and Europe and how America was "peopled." The geography includes two small maps: Chart of the World on Mercator's Projection (4.5 x 6"), and A Map of the United States of America (4.5 x 5") which shows the United States confined to east of the Mississippi with a large Georgia and Northwestern Territory. 143 pp., 24mo., hardbound in quarter calf over marbled wooden boards.

Condition: B

Maps and text show light toning, moderate foxing, and several damp stains. Covers and spine show moderate wear but the binding is sound.
