This portfolio collects 22 loose double-page facsimile maps of Germany from various cartographers, including Ptolemy, Jansson, Hondius, Sanson, Delisle, Homann, and Seutter. The original publication dates of the maps span from 1482 to 1803. It also includes a book of German text (9.5 x 12.8") with background information on each map written by map historian Dr. Peter H. Meurer. 72 pp. with 28 additional black & white maps illustrating the text. Contained in a linen-covered fitted clamshell case.

Condition: B+

Facsimile maps and text are in near fine condition. There is light soiling and minor shelf wear to the clamshell case, with a deaccession stamp on its inner cover.
