A. Van Diemen's Land or Tasmania, by W. & A.K. Johnston, from National Atlas, circa 1844 (19.4 x 23.6"). This is an unusually large and highly detailed map of Tasmania. Maps from this time period normally depicted the island as an inset to a larger map. Detail includes towns, rivers, boundaries, and topography. The Penal Colony in Port Arthur is not noted. Surrounded by a keyboard-style border. Condition: Original outline color with light staining along the centerfold at right.

B. Western Australia Containing the Settlements of Swan-River and King George's Sound... [on sheet with] Van-Diemen Island, by SDUK Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, dated 1833 (15.5 x 12.3"). Two maps on one sheet. The first covers from Perth and the settlements along the Swan River to St. George's Sound. The other half covers all of Tasmania and the Bass Strait with interesting detail of the sparsely settled regions. Condition: Original outline color with light scattered foxing along the top border.
