This large plan of Boston Harbor and its surroundings was made to accompany the report of harbor and land commissioners. It stretches from Cambridge east to George's Island and names several of the Harbor Islands. The plan locates the terminal ground of the New York and New England Railroad Company, some dredging company contracts, depth soundings, beacons, shoals, and more. A legend at bottom right identifies high and low water lines, areas dredged by the United States and Massachusetts, the depths of different areas, and more. Lithography by A. Meisel.
