This lot contains an early map of the states with early county configurations, particularly in Alabama. Excellent detail, including mountains, rivers, roads, lakes, towns, Indian tribes, swamps, court houses, and a host of other details. A large region dedicated to Cherokee Indians and several largely unsettled counties appear in eastern Alabama and northwestern Georgia. The inset plan of Savannah shows the city in street and block layout. The views are steel engravings and include City Hall, Augusta; Interior of the Presbyterian Church, Savannah; and Branch of the United States Bank, Savannah. Engraved and printed by Fenner Sears & Co.
