This is a unique sheet with twelve views of forts on the west coast of Africa. The forts were built during the period of European colonization and the slave trade, including those of the Dutch, English and Danish. Views surround a central panel of French text, which contains descriptions of each of the forts.

Superb impression and color, issued folding on paper with a Strasbourg bend and lily watermark, and just a touch of soiling along the edges of the sheet.
