This title page was originally published in Isaac de Larrey's 1697 atlas and reissued here by Covens & Mortier. The allegorical scene shows Jupiter as a bull abducting Europa - a frequent depiction during the Renaissance period. The detailed scene was engraved by Cornelis Vermeulen and based upon the art of Adriaen van der Werff. A medallion cartouche at top contains the title.
