Incredibly decorative engraving of St. Helena, an important re-fueling stop for ships in the South Atlantic providing fresh water, fruit, and meat to the early explorers. Three elevations provide perspective of the rugged topography, with compass roses to orient the direction from which each view was taken. The ocean contains several Portuguese ships. The sheet is then richly embellished with two elaborate cartouches and an angel holding an armillary sphere. Beautifully engraved by Baptista a Doetechum, whose imprint appears at bottom right.
