The handsome classical title page is from Ortelius' supplemental atlas of the classical world. This woodcut architectural structure features elaborately decorated columns. The base includes the Latin maxim Historiae Oculis Geographia, which translates as "Geography is the Eye of History."

Full original color with light soiling and a worm track along bottom edge of sheet.
