A. Amerique du Nord, (22.7 x 29.6"). This large, handsome map of North America provides considerably more detail than most continental maps of this period, including political boundaries, towns, roads, forts, Indian tribes, and railroads. The map is filled with interesting information concerning the ocean currents and shipping lanes with great detail of even tiny islands. In the United States the states are delineated, with Arizona occupying the southern portion of New Mexico Territory, suggesting a confederate territory. A large inset map details the Aleutian Islands of Alaska.

B. Mexique Antilles, Etats-Unis, (29.4 x 21.4"). This map depicts the United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Here New Mexico and Arizona are shown in the correct configuration. California extends to include the southern tip of Nevada, and Idaho is truncated in the north. Nebraska extends west to include southern Wyoming. There is good detail of roads and railroads. A color-coded key identifies the European colonial possessions. Two small insets depict the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique.
