This view depicts the final battle of the Crimean War, which gave control of this strategic port to the Allies (Britain, France, Ottoman Empire) from Russia. The scene shows the Allies in the foreground surrounding the Russian Tsar's Black Sea fleet with heavy bombardment. Several wounded Allies are shown bloodied with red had coloring. Thirty-four relevant points are listed below and keyed to the view. Printed on a full sheet that measures 16.3 x 10.2".

Issued folding with minor foxing. There is a short fold separation at bottom and an edge tear at left confined to the blank margins that have been closed on verso with archival tape.
