This lot includes two bird's-eye plans and a view of cities in the Low Countries, all copied from Braun and Hogenberg and published in Luigi Guicciardini's important description of the Low Countries.

A. Novimagiu, sive Noviom Agum Vulgo Nijmmegen Inclijta quon dam Francoru Regia urbs Gelirae Prima, hand color. This plan depicts Nijmegen in the Netherlands, near the border with Germany. It details the fortifications surrounding the city. Several ships are docked on the shore of the Waal, and there are windmills in the rolling countryside outside the city walls. Two figures in traditional dress stand in the foreground, and two coats-of-arms appear at top. Condition: On watermarked paper with a few light printer's creases adjacent to the centerfold. Two pairs of worm holes in the blank margins have been infilled with archival material. (A)

B. , black & white. This lovely bird's-eye view focuses on the town of Groningen. Individual buildings and churches are shown in detail within the fortified walls, and Groningen's coat of arms appears at top left. Condition: A crisp impression on watermarked paper with a few surface abrasions near the center of the image and several small repaired worm holes confined to the blank margins. (B+)

C. Limbourg, black & white. This striking view captures the city of Limbourg in Belgium. The city itself appears in the background, with a numbered key identifying important sites. A rural scene unfolds in the foreground, with a shepherd and his dog rallying sheep, a gentleman caning his horse, and a group of ducks feeding. Two coats-of-arms flank the title cartouche. Condition: On a watermarked sheet with minor soiling. There are two pairs of small worm holes in the blank margins. (A)
