The first two maps depict the changes in county development over a 6-year period. Both state maps show good detail of county boundaries, numerous place names, roads and railroads and are surrounded by decorative borders.

A. Map of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas, by Samuel Augustus Mitchell Jr., dated 1860 (10.7 x 13.4"). This map is current to 1859, with the new Craighead county in Arkansas.

B. Johnson's Arkansas Mississippi and Louisiana, by A.J. Johnson, dated 1866 (16.9 x 23.1"). A very detailed map of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi published at the end of the Civil War. County configuration of Arkansas is current to 1862, with the newly created Cross and Woodruff counties.

C. The City of Louisville Kentucky [on sheet with] The City of New Orleans, by Joseph Hutchins Colton, dated 1855 (12.8 x 15.8"). This sheet includes bird's-eye plans of New Orleans, Louisiana and Louisville, Kentucky, with the various divisions within the cities denoted by color, and major streets and points of interest named.

Condition: A

Original color with crisp, clean impressions, and an light toning along the edges of the sheets. The Mitchell map has one small spot of foxing and the Johnson map has faint damp stains in the right blank margin.
