This small, intricately engraved map of North America features nice topographical detail. St. Antoine is identified in Texas. Missouri is the name given to all the United States territory north of Louisiana. The present-day western United States, still part of Mexico here, is labeled Nau. Mexique, while the territory north of Cape Mendocino is under British control and called Colombia. The mythical lakes of Timpanagos and Teguayo appear with a conjectural river connecting them to Monterey. An unusually shaped Alaska is Amerique Russe. Greenland extends to the west over all of Canada to connect with Kiteguen, an area on the eastern side of the Bering Strait.
