This small book was intended for use in schools and covers United States history broken into four periods: Discovery and Exploration, Colonial Period, Revolutionary Period, and Constitutional Period. It includes 5 colored maps, including a double-page map of the United States, as well as numerous other black & white maps and in-text illustrations. 334 pages. Hardbound in quarter leather over green cloth-covered boards with gilt title on spine.

The text and plates are mostly clean and tight with pleasant light toning. The double-page map of the United States has a 2" fold separation at bottom. Covers have light wear with bumped edges and cracked joints.
